Pearce Seymour Grove, age 94, passed away peacefully in Williamsburg, Virginia on November 14, 2024. He was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 21, 1930.
Pearce will be remembered for his beautiful smile and infectious laugh and for being an engaging conversationalist with people from all walks of life. He was a force of nature with tremendous energy and drive combined with an inquisitive mind and curiosity.
Pearce lived in Portales from 1966 to 1975 with Elaine Jackamore, his wife at the time, with their six children: Brenda, Darrel, Marlene, Wayne, Kent and Alan. Pearce was the Library Director at Eastern New Mexico University.
A Celebration of Life and interment for Pearce Grove will be held at Bruton Parish Church, Williamsburg, Virginia on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pearce’s name to Preservation Virginia or to the Bruton Parish Music Program.
