PATSY RUTH TERRAL, 88, “One of God’s most beautiful roses,” surrendered into the arms of Jesus late on the evening of Mar. 22, 2017 at her home near Causey, NM. At her request there will not be any services.

Patsy was born Oct. 23, 1928 in Retrop, OK to the home of Frances (Davis) and Horace T. Newberry.   The Newberry family moved to the Levelland area when she was a girl, and Pat graduated from Levelland High School in 1946.   She was always very athletic, and played basketball and softball while in school.   As an adult, Pat enjoyed bowling and riding horses.   She was married to J. D. Terral, and they made their home in the Causey community.   The couple later divorced.   She helped to work the cattle and do all of the other necessary things on a working cattle ranch and farming operation.   In addition, at one time Pat worked in a bank and had also been employed as a dental assistant in Levelland. In Causey she served as the Village Clerk and worked for a period of time at the local gin.

Pat enjoyed playing dominoes with her friends.   Her home was a favorite of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they would come for their visits.   She was a member of the Causey Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherribob Keeling of Causey and Sabra Watson of Rogers; seven grandchildren, D’Ann (Leon) Calhoun and Patricia Watson and Terry Don, Bill, Scot, C.J. and Koddy Watson; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Justin Kallam and Micah and Tanner Watson as well as several step-great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter, Kylie Kallam.   She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bobby Joe and Billy Gene Newberry.
