In Memory of Patricia Bazar

She touched our lives with her love and

May we always live up to the truth she showed us—
that life is rich when we give of ourselves.

“Patricia was an amazing individual with a heart of gold and a compassion to serve her community selflessly. Not only was she a friend to myself, but to so many others in our local communities,” Casey Peacock, Volunteer Action Center Coordinator with United Way of Eastern New Mexico shared. “Patricia worked tirelessly to put the needs of others above herself and that is just a part of the wonderful legacy she left behind.”
Nomination form for the Patricia Bazar Volunteer of the Year Award may be found by visiting www.unitedwayenm.org. For further details, contact Casey Peacock at 575-769-2103.
Past recipients of the award: Ian Allison and Betty Williamson.
History of the Memorial Award: In 2017, United Way lost a dedicated staff member-Patricia Bazar. Patricia gave of herself to many organizations and causes and it is that willingness to GIVE BACK, not to ONE favorite cause but to the COMMUNITY at large that UWENM wants to memorialize.
At the time of her death, Patricia was serving the Clovis Ministerial Alliance as Secretary; was Student of the Month chairperson for the El Desayuno Kiwanis; was a member of Clovis Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors-she would take personal leave to help with the Music Festival each year; and actively served at all events for the Lighthouse Mission as well as brought the men’s program 2 gallons of milk per week.
Inspired by her generous spirit, the United Way Board of Directors decided to create the “Patricia Bazar- Community Volunteer of the Year Award” to recognize the service of individuals who broadly volunteer across our community.
