PORTALES, NM — After a strong showing at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, Eastern New Mexico University’s Marcus Parker has received weekly accolades from the Lone Star Conference. The sophomore sprinter was chosen as the league’s Male Track Athlete of the Week.
The honor was Parker’s second of the year and first of the outdoor season. Last season, he was chosen twice during the outdoor segment.
Parker registered a seventh-place finish in the 100m dash with a season-best time of 10.17 at the Home Depot Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The time currently leads the NCAA Division II by 0.15, and automatically qualified him to compete in the NCAA Championships. Parker was the lone Division II competitor to reach the event’s finals.
