PORTALES, NM — On Wednesday afternoon, the Lone Star Conference office released its weekly awards for outdoor track & field. With one of the best performances in school history, Marcus Parker claimed LSC Co-Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, along with Texas A&M-Commerce’s Rashard Clark.

The award was Parker’s second of the outdoor season. He also garnered Men’s Track Athlete of the Week once during the indoor segment of the season.

Parker had an incredible week for the Greyhounds and earned first-place finishes in both the 100m and 200m dashes at the West Texas A&M Invitational. His time of 20.43 in the 200m leads NCAA Division II in addition to ranking fourth in the NCAA (all divisions) and fifth overall in the United States. Parker also posted a time of 10.30 in the 100m dash.

The Eastern New Mexico University track & field teams will open the Lone Star Conference Championship Meet on Thursday, May 3, 2018. The event will be hosted by Angelo State.
