For the second time this season the Lone Star Conference office has chosen Marcus Parker from the Eastern New Mexico University outdoor track & field team for weekly honors. After his performance at the West Texas A&M Invitational, the freshman was chosen as the league’s Male Track Athlete of the Week.
Parker registered three first place finishes at last weekend’s West Texas A&M Invitational. All three of those performances earned provisional qualifying marks to the upcoming NCAA Championships. His time of 10.27 in the 100m dash ranks as the fourth best in the nation. Parker also posted a time of 21.06 in the 200m dash. He ran the final leg of the 4x100m relay with a time of 40.83. Parker is leads the Lone Star Conference in the 200m, is second in the 100m and third in the 4x100m relay.
The Eastern New Mexico University outdoor track & field teams will return to action on Thursday, May 4, for the Lone Star Conference Championships. The event will be hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce.
