We have been notified that there is a mineral oil spill in downtown Portales. It is advised to avoid Abilene, Commercial and Third Street if at all possible. They have placed dirt out on the streets to help in the clean up process however roads can still can be very slick so best to decrease speeds if you have to be in that area.
