Taylor Gulley Obituary

Brad Morgan officiating and Anthony Griffith assisting.

Taylor Shane Gulley was born on March 30, 2000, in Corpus Christi, Texas to the home of Laura Lea (McCormick) and Jason Lynn Gulley and died on May 17, 2024, in Portales, New Mexico.

Taylor was the life of the party!  He left the world doing what he loved.  Taylor was a free spirit, he did not live by the rules.  He was absolutely a “F it full send” kind of guy.  He didn’t worry about consequences, he just did what he wanted and let the cards fall where they may.  He absolutely loved his bike and the freedom it gave him.  As soon as he got it running, he rode it everyday no matter rain, shine, wind and even snow.

Taylor loved his wife and three sons with his entire being.  Rebekah and Taylor fought the world for their love.  They never let anything break them apart.  He loved adventure so much that he took the long road in life just to get as much adventure as he could.  He was extremely outdoorsy.  He loved hunting, fishing, camping and cooking out.  He was always making up recipes and most of the time it turned out so good.  His first take at meatloaf was a complete failure, we always laughed about that.  He loved guns so much, in fact the only reason he wanted to join the army was so he could shoot guns and “blow stuff up” as he put it.

Taylor was the best Daddy, husband, brother, uncle, son and friend.  He was loved by so many.  It wasn’t hard to love him. He had the best personality.  Proud doesn’t even describe how his family felt about where he was in life.  If you were upset over something, you wouldn’t be for long if he was around.  He was always cracking jokes and keeping the positive vibes up.  He would give you the shirt off his back even if it was his only one.  Anytime family or friends called for help, he was right there.  Taylor loved big with “his chest out”.

Taylor is survived by his wife, Rebekah Gulley; his three sons, Aaron (6), Jacob (4) and Nathan (11months); his “ma” and step-dad, Laura and Joe Ferrell; his father and step-mother, Jason and Kristal Gulley; his siblings, Ashlynn Gulley, Timothy Cashmer, Christina Valdez, Lilyanna Valdez, Alex Ferrell and Tristan Gatlin; his niece and nephews, Atlas and Octavia Cashmer, Cooper Carter and Waylon Victor, and many grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Benjamin Gulley, his great grandparents Jim and Reba McCormick, his great granddaddy Leland Hamilton, grandfather Curtis Nix and great grandparents R.D. and Doris Gulley.
