The Rosary for Maria Teresa Ramos, 62, of Portales, will be recited at 2:30 P.M., Wed., Mar. 28, 2018 at St. Helen Catholic Church. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 3:30 P.M. by Fr. Charles Ugochukwu.
Maria Teresa Ramos was born Oct. 15, 1955 in Nuevas Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, and died Mar. 25, 2018 in Lubbock, TX.
On June 23, 1982, she was married to Gustavo Ramos. They came to the United States in 1983, and made their home in Las Vegas, New Mexico until 2006 when they came to Portales. She began a career as a Certified Nursing Aide in Las Vegas, and continued to work in that profession after moving to Portales. Locally she had worked at St. Anthony’s Health Care, Clovis Rehab and at the Farwell Convalescent Center. She had been unable to work for the past seven years due to her health.
Mrs. Ramos had a very generous and tender heart. She made friends wherever she was, and doctors and nurses fell in love with her. She was deeply devoted to her family, and always enjoyed time with any of them, but especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Gustavo Ramos of Portales; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Ramos of Albuquerque and Gustavo and Lorraine Ramos, Jr. of Portales; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Gabriella and Daniel Ramos-Garcia of Bastrop, TX, Marisol and Chris Ramos-Urias of Redrock, TX and Blanca Zapata-Padilla of Nuevas Casas Grandes, Mexico; and eleven grandchildren, Eduardo Garcia, Yandel Garcia, Nicolas Ramos, Mia Urias-Ramos, J. J. Ramos, Jeremiah Ramos, Ninel Urias-Ramos, Yadhira Maria Urias-Ramos, Marcos Pacheco, Elizabeth Pacheco and Fantasy Marie Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jaime Villareal, Jr.
