Funeral services for Kyle Joseph Mueller, 24, of Sidney, NE, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Fri., Jan. 19, 2018 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Ronnie Mitchell, Callen Mitchell, Shane Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell, Chris Weems, Jonathan Jones, Wesley Weems and Tyler McKinley serving as pallbearers. Josiah Pilgrim and Samuel Jones along with the members of Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous and Moral Roconation Therapy Chapters of Sidney, NE, as well as the students and faculty of Western Nebraska Community College of Sidney, NE will be honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Kyle Joseph Mueller went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 in Chicago. He was born on Sept. 3, 1993 in Atlanta, GA. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior April 18, 2004. After growing up in the Atlanta area, he spent time working on his grandparents’ dairy near Portales, NM. While there, he earned his high school diploma from Clovis Community College in May 2010. He recently attended college at Western Nebraska Community College in Sidney, NE, to pursue an Associates of Science degree in chemistry where, as a dedicated hardworking student, he made the dean’s list for honorary grades, achieving a 4.0 GPA.
While living in Sidney, he made a positive impact on his community, mentoring several in his Moral Reconation Therapy course. He also was a loved member of both Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous, where he actively encouraged others to continue recovery from addiction. He was noted for always seeking to help others and being a kind, generous friend.
Those who knew Kyle have said they were truly blessed with him in their lives. His many loved ones describe him as a good friend – like a brother – very intelligent, humorous, always there to help, and determined to overcome any obstacles to achieve his goals.
Survivors include his mother and step father, Gail and Eric Pilgrim of Fort Knox, KY; father, Henry Joseph Mueller, III, of Washington, D.C.; sister, Sarah Renee Mueller of Washington, D.C.; brother and sister, Josiah and Adelaide Pilgrim of Fort Knox, KY; maternal grandparents, Ronnie and Demarys Mitchell of Portales, NM; paternal grandmother, Lydia Mueller of El Paso, TX; and maternal great grandmother, Sybil Mitchell of Clovis, NM; as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Henry Joseph Mueller; his maternal great-grandparents, Ruth and Wesley Callan Weems and Edmon Mitchell; and a cousin, Katie Autumn Reed.
