Graveside rites for Glenna McNutt, 74, of Portales, will be held at 1:00 PM, Wed., Feb. 14, 2018 in the Portales Cemetery with Pastor Michael Kirby officiating.
Glenna Mae McNutt was born Feb. 6, 1944 in Elida, NM to the home of Jimmie Catherine (Wimberley) and Elze Wade Caywood, and died Feb. 11, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Glenna grew up in Kenna until the family moved to Portales. She first met Roger McNutt in 1959 when they were in school together. They were married May 19, 1962, and had one daughter. As time went by, she worked at the Selected Casings Plant, the Portales Steam Laundry and finally Hatch Packing Co, before going to work as a cook at Roosevelt General Hospital. She had been retired since 1998.
She is survived by her husband, Roger of the home; a daughter, Tammy Leija of Portales; two granddaughters, Tabitha Leonard and Stephanie Leija; two great-grandchildren, Jordyn Leija-Melendez and Zabian Leija-Melendez; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Lee and Doncella Caywood of Portales and a sister and brother-in-law, Helen Faye and Rick Haptonstall of Carlisle, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents.
