Graveside services for Tommy Mack Tucker, 46, of Portales, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wed., Mar. 6, 2019 in the Portales Cemetery with Rev. Brad Morgan and Dyron Daughrity officiating. Keegan Tucker, Scott Phillips, Sammy Standefer Carl Steffen, Cody Walker and Rick Bouldin will serve as pallbearers.
Tommy Mack Tucker was born Oct. 10, 1972 in Portales, NM to the home of Joe Ann (Smith) and Thomas Robert “Mack” Tucker and died at his home in Portales on the afternoon of Mar. 2, 2019. Tommy grew up in Portales, and was a 1991 graduate of Portales High School. He was a talented artist, and had studied art at both Eastern New Mexico University and San Juan College. For a number of years he lived in Bloomfield, NM where he was employed as a truck driver. In 2014, he moved back to his hometown of Portales, and worked as a truck driver until his health forced his retirement in 2016.
Tommy loved to draw and do tatoos. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and going fishing. He did most of his fishing at Oasis State Park and Sumner Lake near Fort Sumner. However, he made an annual trek to Ruidoso the go fishing around the time of his birthday.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Tucker of Portales; his parents, Joe Ann and Mack Tucker of Portales; and two brothers and s sister-in-law, Keegan Tucker of Midland, TX and Tom and Betty Barnett of Norman, OK.
