Tommy Lynn Loyd was born Aug. 10, 1946 in Wichita Falls, TX to the home of Nita Fay (Allen) and Hilliard Calvison Loyd, and died at his home in Portales o Aug. 20, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Tommy grew up in Holliday, TX. He had only been dating Rebecca Donley a short time when he received word that he was needed in Arizona for his work as an x-ray tech for the pipeline company where he was employed. He found Rebecca, and told her he had to go, but was not going without her. So, they schemed together to get everything pulled together, got married, and left the next day for Arizona. They eventually settled in Holliday, and he went to work for his father-in-law in his plumbing business. Their work took them throughout the Wichita Falls area. Tommy became a master plumber, and later opened his own plumbing business, Tommy Loyd Plumbing. He retired in the early 2000’s and they moved to Portales to be near their daughters and their families. He loved horses, as well as going bass fishing and working in his garden.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca of their home; a son and daughter-in-law, Chanse and Deidre Loyd of Electra, TX; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kendra and David Williams and Kristy and Benji Ward of Portales; ten grandchildren, Reanna, Maxine and Mason Ward, Katie and Jacob Webb, Cherish Knight, Laura Sadberry, Haley and Nason Williams and Jordan Monroe, as well as various other adopted grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Michael Williams and Mali Freeman; and a brother, Larry Loyd of Holliday, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Calvin Loyd.
