Susan Kim Womack was born May 22, 1054 in Portales, NM to the home of Georgia Louise (Hampton) and J. W. Womack and died Nov. 8, 2018 in Portales. Susan lived in Portales her entire life, and was a 1972 graduate of Portales High School. She later earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from Clovis Community College. Susan was employed at K-Mart in Clovis for over 25 years. For the past several years she had been employed at Roosevelt General Hospital as a Billing Clerk.
Susan loved gardening and reading as well as working in her yard. She had been a second mother to each of her nieces and nephews and even her great-nieces and nephews. Susan always had an abundance of stories to tell about each of them as they were growing up. Her passion was for abandoned pets, and she had two rescue dogs, Sugar and Spice that were her “babies.” She was very active with Cindy’s Hope For Precious Paws rescue clinic in Clovis, and was always ready to help with that cause in any way possible.
Susan is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Mick Hoffman and Karen and Rick Inge of Portales and a sister-in-law, Debbie (Mrs. Tracy) Womack of Clovis; nine nieces and nephews, Wendy Turner, Michael (Gina) Hoffman, Shelly Brown, Mike Brown, Nikki Brown-Crawford, Joshua (Veronica) Inge, Chris Inge, Jared Womack and Clinton Womack; ten great-nieces and nephews; and by her constant companion, Sugar. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her only brother, Tracy Womack who died Nov. 18, 2014, and by her beloved Spice, her other constant companion.
