No longer isolated in a world of darkness, Suzanne McCready entered into eternal peace and went home to see her Savior on Sept. 16, 2018.
She was born into the home of William and Mildred (Nolan) McCready on December 10, 1941 in New Haven, CT. She attended St. Francis Parochial School in New Haven, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School in Hamden, CT.
At a very young age Sue was an avid reader and treasured all her books. If there wasn’t a book in her hand, there was a pen or pencil sketching or drawing the beauty of nature around her.
There was never a topic or issue Sue could not expound on. She was blessed with a great personality, and one fantastic sense of humor. Kind, empathetic, loving, giving and protective of those she loved and knew are just a few of the virtues she possessed. Lover of all four legged “fur faces,” she rescued them all and welcomed them to her home.
After the passing of her mother in 1987, she moved to Portales to live with her sister and niece Tracy. Once here, she became a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at Alexander Family Practice as a medical referral clerk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred McCready, and also by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
She is survived by her sister, Marilee Brennan and her niece, Tracy Brennan Fuqua, Tracy’s husband, Tim and their daughter, Jamie Kaitlyn of North Platte, NE.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the future.
