Richard Ramirez, 54, of Portales, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 peacefully at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Portales with Brother Phil Landers officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rito Ferrel, Teddy Lopez, Sergio Encinias, Carlos Ornelas, James L. Johnson, Izzy Rodriguez and Christian Rodriguez.
Richard was born May 15, 1964 in Modesto, California. He worked as a welder and fabricator at various different places. He loved carpentry work, making many different pieces of furniture as well as cabinets. Richard and Patsy have been together for the past 27 years and finally they got married on December 1, 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Ramirez of Portales; his daughters, Tammy Encinias (Carlos) of Portales, Emily Encinias (Henry) of Portales, Rachel Welch of Ava, MO and Heather Rodriguez (Manuel) of Portales; four granddaughters; seven grandsons and eight great grandchildren.
