The funeral service for Raul Rosa, 63, of Portales, will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Tues., Oct. 9, 2018 at Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Don Thomas officiating.
Raul Rosa was born Aug. 21, 1955 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to the home of Carmen A. (Sifre) and Raul Rosa Roman, and died on the evening of Oct. 4, 2018 in Portales. Raul was born and raised in Aguadilla and graduated from Jose De Diego High School. He joined the United States Air Force when he was 18 years old and served for over 17 years. He worked for the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Department and later for the Portales Police Department. He was a certified armor and weapons instructor. He retired from the Portales Police Department in 2016. Raul loved music and dancing. He especially loved his family and his community. He will be forever loved.
He is survived by his sons, Raul Rosa Crespo, Ruben Rosa Crespo and Rey Rosa Crespo, all of Puerto Rico; his daughter, Rhiannon Rosa of Portales; his brothers, Jose Raul Rosa Sifre and Raul Enrique Rosa Sifre, both of Puerto Rico; his sisters, Carmen A. Rosa Sifre of Orlando, FL and Mayra Monserrate Rosa Sifre of Puerto Rico; three grandchildren and a host of extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Portales Police Department.
