The Rosary for Osbaldo Navarrete, 44, of Portales will be recited at 7:00 PM, Fri., Jan 25, 2019 at St. Helen Catholic Church with Fr. John Brasher officiating, assisted by Deacon Roberto Herrera. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. John Brasher at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Jude Navarrete, Osbaldo Navarrete, Alfonso Cervantes, Manuel Hinojosa, Henry Lucero, Jr., Gil Cano, Eugene Salaz and Erasmo Hinojosa serving as pallbearers.
Osbaldo Morales Navarrete was born June 27, 1974 in Coyame, Mexico to the home of Ofelia (Morales) and Usbaldo Ortega Navarrete, and died Jan. 19, 2019 as the result of an auto accident. He came to Elida in 1990 to work on the Nuckols Ranch. Within a few years he had started working construction. On Dec. 20, 1993 in Farwell, TX he was married to Jeannie Salaz. In 1998, Mr. Navarrete returned to Mexico where he worked until 2005. At that time he came back to the United States. Recently, he had been working pipeline construction for Bowden Construction Co. He was a hard working man. He enjoyed working as well as riding horseback, fishing and grilling for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie of their home; two sons, Osbaldo Navarrete and Jude Navarrete of Portales; a daughter, Jadisma Navarrete of Rio Rancho, NM; two grandchildren, Kalea Hernandez and Dasael Navarrete; his parents, Ofelia and Ubaldo Navarrete of Coyame, Mexico; four brothers, Saul Navarrete of Midland, TX, Angel Navarrete of Odessa, TX, and Efrian and Luis Fernando Navarrete of Coyame, Mexico; and a sister, Rosa Elia Navarrete of Odessa, TX.
