Funeral services for Mike Bustamante, 26, of Portales, will be at 10:00 AM, Wed., June 20, 2018 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Camilo Navarrete, Senovio Chavez, Izzy Rodriguez, Joe Bustamante III, Jaime Sotelo and Abraham Sotelo, Jr serving as pallbearers.
Mike Junior Bustamante was born June 27, 1991 in Clovis to the home of Jennifer (Valencia) and Mike Martinez Bustamante, and died early on the morning of June 15, 2018 in Lubbock, TX. Mike attended the Portales schools. As a boy, he played Little League Baseball. After he was grown, he worked at Heartland Continuing Care Center before moving to Corpus Christi. While living there he worked at several different fast food restaurants. He had moved back to Portales in Aug. of 2017.
Mike loved music and dancing. He also liked to play BINGO. He was the family clown, and was always making people laugh. Pickle slushies were his favorite. He was particularly fond of his niece and nephews, and always called them his “monkeys.”
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Jennifer and Joseph Holguin of Portales; his father Mike Bustamante of Portales; a brother, Billy Joe Bustamante and a sister, Veronica Bustamante both of Portales.
