Funeral services for Miguel Alejandro “Lizard” Lopez, 10, of Causey, NM will be at 2:30 PM, Wed., Aug. 22, 2018 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Fr. Heriberto Mercado officiating, assisted by Kolby Tollett. Burial will follow in the Inez Cemetery with Israel Lopez, Johnny Lopez, Steven Lopez, Frank Lopez, Cecilia Reyna and Lupe Gonzalez serving as pallbearers. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Tues., Aug. 21, 2018 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel. Public viewing will extend through 8:00 PM, Tues, Aug. 21, 2018.
Miguel Alejandro Lopez, known to almost everyone as “Lizard,” was born July 11, 2008 in Clovis, NM to Reyna “Luli” Lopez and Alonso Gandara and died as the result of an accident in Causey, NM on Aug. 17, 2018. Miguel was always a very happy child, who loved basketball and working with his grandfather on the farm. He also had a fascination with dinosaurs. He was a member of Mrs. Craig’s 4th grade class at the Dora school.
Miguel is survived by his mother, “Luli” Lopez of Causey, his father and step-mother, Alonso and Diana Gandara of Melrose, NM; a sister, Nazli Miramontes of the home; his maternal grandparents, Matilde and Juan Lopez of Rogers, NM and his paternal grandparents, Maria de Jesus Ramirez-Chaves and Roberto Gandara-Eriquez of Ojinaga, Mexcio; as well as several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
