Funeral services for Madeen Casey, 96, of Portales, will be at 10:00 AM, Wed., Dec. 12, 2018 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Scott P. Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Todd Tivis, Chad Tivis, Shannon Dever, Tom Madewell, Dylan Madewell and Anthony Ramos serving as pallbearers. Her honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Adult IV Sunday School Department of the First Baptist Church and the members of the Roosevelt General Hospital Auxiliary.

Madeen Casey passed away on Dec. 9, 2018 in Clovis. She was born Feb. 15, 1922 in Taiban, NM to the home of Samuel and Leola Bass. When she was six month old, the family moved to West Texas where they lived until moving to Portales in 1938. On Nov. 22, 1941 in Roswell, NM she was united in marriage with Verlin Casey. The couple had four daughters.

Madeen was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class in Portales. She was also a member of the Roosevelt General Hospital Auxiliary which she joined in 1984. She enjoyed working as a Pink Lady for more than 20 years.

Madeen is survived by three daughters and their families, Deniece and Bob Morgan of Clovis, Phyllis Dever of Clovis, and Patricia and Ted Tivis of Roswell, NM; four grandchildren, Todd Tivis, Chad Tivis, Sondra (Tommy) Madewell, and Shannon Dever; four great-grandchildren, Chasity (Anthony) Madewell, Dylan (Amy) Madewell, Tiffani (Justin) Tivis and Taylor Tivis; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jack Nuttall of S. D. She was preceded in death by her husband Verlin Casey who passed away July 28, 1993, a daughter, Thailia Verdeen; four brothers, Dutch, V. C., Henry and Max L. Bass and a sister, Beatrice Jones.
