Funeral services for Dora Wall will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Daniel Hurtado officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with A. J. Sena, Fabian Olivas, Lupe Chavez, Abel De La Cruz, Jimmy Rodriguez, Jude Rodriguez, Eric Rodriguez and Jesse Lucero serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Wheeler Mortuary.
Dora Wall was born on May 16, 1937 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to the home of Merenciana (Martinez) and Ramon Gallegos, and died on February 25, 2019 in Lubbock. She grew up in Las Vegas and worked at the state hospital there. She moved to Portales in 1968. She worked as a CNA at the nursing home and also did private housekeeping. Later on she worked as a caregiver for elderly people at their homes as well as at her own home. She enjoyed dancing at the Senior Citizen’s Center. She loved telling jokes and was a true friend to everyone she met.
Dora is survived by her daughters, Becky Sena and husband David and Isabel Rodriguez and husband Juan; her brothers, Ramon Gallegos and wife Flora and Ralph Gallegos; her sisters, Maria Carter and Jenny Pacheco and husband Tony; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and a special great great granddaughter, Makeila Lizarraga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Andres Lucero, her second husband, Junior Wall, her third husband, Leopoldo Martinez, sons, Steve Lucero and Charles Lucero, brother, Richard Gallegos, sister, Margie Aragon and great grandson, Santos Sena.
