Bobbi Jo Mongar
Funeral services for Bobbi Jo Mongar, 51, of Portales will be at 2:00 PM, Mon., Dec. 31, 2018 Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Taylor Owen, Travis Owen, Donovan Finley, Jody Victor, Chase Gossett, and Danny Victor serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Victor, Kevin Victor, James Golden, Derek Gossett, and Grant Gossett.
Bobbi Jo Mongar was born April 26, 1967 in Portales, NM to the home of Hazel Mae (Carroll) and Billy L. Owen and died at her home on the morning of Dec. 25, 2018. She attended Portales High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern New Mexico University. She received her nursing degree from Clovis Community College in 1988. Bobbi worked for Dr. Bruce Owens for several years, and later at the Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was most recently employed at Roosevelt General Hospital in the Emergency Room. Bobbi loved to read and was a great cook. She was a very kind and generous person who made friends easily. Bobbi was especially close to her family, and was a loyal friend. She had a special love for her dog, Dexter.
She is survived by her son, Tyler Owen and wife Tracy of Midland, TX; her sisters, Debbie Victor and husband Kerry of Rogers, Teresa Naggs of Roswell, Sandi Golden and husband Mike of Arch and Laura Owen of Portales; her brothers, Billy Owen, Jr. and wife Sheila of Portales and Jeff Owen and wife Kayla of Portales; her parents, Billy and Hazel Owen of Portales, and numerous nieces and nephews.
