Funeral services for Billy Don Arnold, 72, of Portales, will be at 3:00 PM, Fril, Dec. 21, 2018 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with his brother, Roy Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery.
Billy Don Arnold was born April 15, 1946, in Clovis, NM to the home of Mary Dean (Farmer) and Ernest Arnold and died Dec. 17, 2018 in Portales. Billy Don grew up in Texico, NM where his family were members of the Church of Christ. For several years he worked for the city of Farwell as a trash collector. In the early 1970’s he and his family moved to Portales. He took care of his mother until her death. Billy loved his dogs and his pet parakeets.
He is survived by two brothers, Roy Arnold of Portales and Mike Arnold of Carbondale, KS; and four sisters, Myrle Rush of Clovis, Peggy Cole of Roswell, NM, JoAnn Dudley of Carbondale, KS and Arlene High of Carbondale, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and James Arnold and two sisters, Rose Baker and Vickie Reivas.
