Betty Burleson, age 91 of Portales, New Mexico passed away May 9, 2018 at her home. She was born July 11, 1927 in Seagraves, Texas to Grace and C. B. Myers. Betty grew up and received her education in Melrose, New Mexico and married Clifford Burleson in 1947. They had one daughter, Sheryl.
Betty worked as a bookkeeper for the Melrose Supply Co., assistant at Melrose City Hall and various other places. She was a member of the Melrose Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl Keneipp and Don of Portales; two grandchildren, Shantel Elser and Mechelle Bilbrey, three great-grandchildren, Naci Durham, Kalli Bilbrey and Brenna Elser, nephew Rich Hendershot, three great-nephews and three great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Burleson, her mother and father, Grace and C. B. Myers, a sister, Merline Hendershot, a brother, Harold Myers, a brother-in-law, Mack Hendershot and two nephews, Rod and Ronnie Hendershot.
Private family services will be held at a later time.
