Antonia Elizabeth Watson, known to family and friends as “Tonie,” was born Nov. 10, 1961 in Portales to the home of Jane (Janes) and Jesse Watson and died May 11, 2019. Tonie graduated from Portales High School in 1979 where she was on the softball team. She attended briefly at ENMU. She was very family oriented and always took care of whoever needed care. For several years she worked on the security force at the university. For the past several years she had been employed in the hospital cafeteria at Roosevelt General Hospital.
Tonie was an accomplished cook. She loved animals, especially horses and dogs. Playing games with her family, and doing puzzles of various kinds was how she spent her spare time.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Jamie Watson of Roswell; her mother, Jane Janes of Portales; two sisters, Mary Lou Kemp of Portales and Socorro Urias of Taos, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.
We are so sad to hear about Tonie. We are praying for the family. She will be missed greatly. Love to all.

I went to school and graduated with Tonie. She was on the quiet side. I remember her kind smile and her naturally curly hair. She was a lovely person. My greatest Sympathy to her family and friends.
