PORTALES, N.M. – After a two-year hiatus, Eastern New Mexico University has is accepting applications for the ENMU Hall of Honors for the 2022 induction year.
Eastern New Mexico didn’t have a Hall of Honors induction for the years of 2020 and 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, inhibiting the university’s ability to host a large gathering on or off campus for the induction ceremony that is traditional for the induction class.
“The Hall of Honors here at Eastern is an incredible opportunity for us to recognize some of the amazing people that make our athletic department so special,” said Director of Athletics Dr. Paul Weir. “There has been a short hiatus, but we look forward to getting back on an annual schedule to express our thanks to our new incoming members at each Homecoming. We look forward to reviewing the new applicants and keeping this tradition moving forward,” said Dr. Weir.
Former athletes, current and former coaches, along with support staff are eligible to be elected to the Hall of Honors. Athletes are eligible five years after graduation, coaches and support staff must have served five years with the institution and demonstrate leadership that has brought distinction to the University.
