Moinat Named 2020 NCAA DII Indoor All-American
NEW ORLEANS – Eastern New Mexico track and field athlete Ivar Moinat was named a 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-American in the 800m, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCAA) announced Tuesday morning.
Moinat turned in a fantastic senior campaign and posted a third-place finish at the Texas Tech Shootout on Feb. 14-15 after posting a time of 1:50.39 in the 800m. Not only did his finish serve as a career-best, it was also the fourth-fastest time in all DII and qualified the Amsterdam native for the third National Championship meet of his distinguished career.
Moinat also competed in the 600m at the New Mexico Team open on Feb. 1 as he topped the podium at the event, finishing with a career-best time of 1:20.31 and out-ran four Division I athletes. During the 2020 indoor season, Moinat competed in 10 total races and finished in the top three in six different events.
The All-American recognition marks Moinat’s third offseason award as he also earned USTFCCCA All-South Region honors as well as All-Lone Star Conference Acadmeic Team accolades.
