Christopher Mesquita took a pass from Nicolai Alstrom and staked the Eastern New Mexico University men’s soccer team (3-10-1; HC 2-8) to an early lead in Saturday’s Heartland Conference match. 18th-ranked St. Edwards (11-2-1; HC 8-1-1) regrouped and posted a 4-1 win over the Greyhounds at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
The contest capped a six-game road stretch for ENMU. The Greyhounds will return home at Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium this week for a three-match homestand. The homestand will start on Thursday night at 7 p.m. MT against UT Permian Basin.
