Oct. 10 is Mental Health Day and this year the New Mexico Department of Health is spreading the word about the connection between social media use and mental health with a new campaign. We have been asked to get the word out and below you will see how you can help. Much appreciation to our NMDOH programs for offering their insight and expertise on this matter and to our NMDOH communications and marketing team for producing this campaign.
This week and until Oct. 9, NMDOH is focusing its social media content on bringing awareness to the role social media plays in our mental health. You can easily get involved. Here’s how:
- The easiest way is to share NMDOH’s light green social media posts promoting Mental Health Day, during Oct. 5-9.
- Visit NMDOH’s Mental Health Day website where you can download the media kit for this campaign to use with the communities you serve and programs you partner with.
- Make the Take a Break pledge by clicking the large green button on the website.
- Use the graphic below to share on your networks.
Then the New Mexico Department of Health is taking a break.
- On Oct. 10, (Tuesday) across all our NMDOH accounts, our communications and marketing team will not post or engage with social media content, taking a break for the day.
- You are encouraged to also take a pause from social media on Mental Health Day.
- Use the time you would normally spend on social media on activities that positively impact your daily life.
- Encourage your families, friends, and public health partners to take the pledge to take a pause.
