PORTALES, N.M. – Head Coach Jon Fridal of Eastern New Mexico men’s soccer has announced that Jorge Rodriguez, a junior college transfer, has signed his GIA to join the Greyhounds this fall.
Rodriguez is an imposing defender who stands 6-2 and most recently competed for Laredo College last season as a sophomore. He was a three-time Defensive Player of the Week honoree and appeared in 15 games with 11 starts while totaling five points on two goals, one game winner, and an assist as a member of the Palominos.
Rodriguez began his collegiate playing career at Camden County College where he helped the Cougars to a third-place finish in NJCAA DIII National Tournament in 2018.
In his spare time, Rodriguez enjoys going to the gym, going to the movies and playing ping pong. Upon graduation he intends to play professional soccer or utilize his health and wellness degree to get a job here in the United States.
