The Eastern New Mexico men’s basketball team hosts St. Edward’s University on Saturday, January 22. The Greyhounds and Hilltoppers will tip off at 4 p.m. as they both look to improve their standings in Lone Star Conference action.

LAST TIME OUT

• The Eastern New Mexico men’s basketball team enters the week with a 6-8 overall record and 2-3 mark in Lone Star Conference play. ENMU went 0-2 last week with a 80-51 loss against UT Tyler on Jan. 13 and a 92-60 loss to Texas A&M-Commerce on Jan. 15.
• Against UT Tyler, JaQuan Morris led the Greyhound offense with 11 points, while Kentrell Pullian and Kevin Nze Mba both added 10 points. Defensively, Nze Mba paced ENMU with five rebounds and two steals.
• Against Texas A&M-Commerce, Pullian led the ENMU offense with 14 points. Cornell Greenwood added 11 points, while Morris finished with nine points. Defensively, Isaac Maldonado led the team with five rebounds. Pullian and Yosnier Cobas were close behind with four boards each.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION

• St. Edward’s enters the weekend with an 8-8 overall record and 2-4 record in conference play.
• On Thursday, the Hilltoppers fell, 87-60, to No. 1 nationally-ranked Lubbock Christian. Uche Dibiamaka and Luke Pluyman led the team offensively with 16 points each. Jake Krafka pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
• Daniel Venzant paces the offense with 17.3 points per game, while Dibiamaka adds 14.2 points per contest. Defensively, Logan Cook averages 8.7 rebounds per game.
