Obituary for Jimmy Ed Adams
Graveside services for Jimmy Ed Adams, 74, of Portales, will be at 2:30 PM, Sat., Oct. 21, 2017 in the Portales Cemetery with Scott P. Reeves and Delbert Rector officiating. The Floyd Fire Department will serve as pallbearers, and render honors.
Jimmy Ed Adams was born Mar. 12, 1943, in Clovis, to the home of Estherline Fannie (Dutton) and John Edgar Adams, and died Oct. 16, 2017 in Portales. Except for a brief period is his life, Jimmy lived his entire life in the Bethel community. He and his father worked together for many years, providing water well service to the area. Jimmy was always ready to help a friend, even on Christmas day. He was a very friendly and outgoing man. Jimmy loved to visit with his friends, and even though he was not officially part of the Floyd Fire Dept., he attended their monthly meetings, and always had a cooler filled with ice water parked by the tanker, to hand out to the firefighters. He attended the Floyd Methodist Church as long as his health would permit. Jimmy enjoyed going hunting and fishing and camping out.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Edward Tederick of Roswell; a niece, Brenda Sue Searcy of Gallup; and a great-niece, Candace Searcy and two great-nephews, Cody and Josh Searcy; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
