In my opinion.

To wear a mask or not wear a mask.  This has become an issue that some people feel like this is where, they will draw their line in the sand.  And I get that, at first we were told don’t wear masks because they don’t work against the virus and then told we have to wear a mask to protect ourselves and others from the virus.  Add to that the struggle that we are all going through trying to adapt to a world where every day brings another set of things, we can’t do.  As a general rule we are a people that are accustomed to having our freedom, going and coming as we please.  We are used to the shelves being full at our stores, toilet paper was never an issue.  Our patience and our resources have worn thin with this pandemic.  This is hard for us.

I say all this to say, I get that you might want to rebel against the mask.  However, our restaurants and shops are struggling to come back after the long shut down by the governor.  There are people that are filming on their phones their friends and neighbors going in to local business without masks  and then turning those videos into the governor or State Police.   The governor will retaliate against those businesses, she has proven that with business license pulled in other towns.  Several of our local business have had visits from the State Police and calls from OSHA.  Their livelihood is at stake – lets stand together as a community and protect our local businesses.

Protest the mask, just don’t do it in a local business where you might be putting their livelihood  at stake.  Write letters, organize a march, buy a billboard, stand on a street corner with a sign, VOTE!  Stand against the mask  but lets stand together to protect our friends and neighbors!

So no matter how you feel about the mask, lets support our local business and wear the mask to go in and shop and/or wear it until we are seated in a restaurant.  And if you are one of those people who are turning others in – SHAME ON YOU!
