Mary “Jane” (Ulibari) Pacheco February 26, 1939 ~ December 9, 2024 (age 85)

The Rosary for Jane Pacheco, 85, of Portales, will be recited at 9:00 AM, Wed., Dec. 11, 2024 at St. Helen Catholic Church.  Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Francisco Carbajal at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery with Ray Cordova, Jordan Cordova, Miguel Zazueta, Adam Pacheco, Jr., Paul Pacheco and Matthew Salazar serving as pallbearers.  All of her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mary Jane Pacheco, known as Jane, was born Feb. 26, 1939 in Vaughn, NM to the home of Adela (Armijo) and Luciano Ulibari and passed from this life at her home on Dec. 9, 2024.  As a small child, she moved to Clovis where she grew up.  On Mar. 5, 1955, in Portales, she was married to Frank Fortunato Pacheco.  From that time on she made her home in Portales.

Mrs. Pacheco was a devoted wife and mother.  She enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking traditional Mexican dishes.  Mrs. Pacheco made delicious enchiladas, as well as fresh tortillas and sopapillas and green chili.  She and Mr. Pacheco enjoyed dancing.  Jane liked playing BINGO and going to garage sales.  She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Minerva Pacheco of Portales; 13 grandchildren, James Pacheco, Joe Pacheco, Michael Pacheco, Felicia Romero and fiancé, Ray Cordova, Christopher and wife, Audra Pacheco, Gerardo Marquez, Aracely Villareal and husband, Frank, Christian Pacheco and companion, Freixy Scasado, Angel Sena, Jeremy Sena and wife, Myrna Sena, Iris Jimenez and life partner, Miguel Zazueta, Anaie Plasencia and husband, Jose and Juan Cabrera; 29 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Frankie Pacheco and Jimmy Joe Pacheco, a daughter, Beatrice Sena and by her husband, Frank Pacheco who died June 2, 2017 after more than 62 years of marriage.
