Martha Nell (Watson) Armstrong November 18, 1938 ~ December 15, 2023 (age 85)

Martha Nell Armstrong was born Nov. 18, 1938 in Amherst, TX to the home of Theola (Duckworth) and John Watson, and passed from this life at her home in Causey on the morning of Dec. 15, 2023.  Martha grew up in Amherst, and graduated from high school there in 1956.  She ran a small café on the Garrison road for a time.  Later she attended Beauty College and attained her beautician’s license.  On Dec. 28, 1968 in Littlefield, TX she was married to Vernie Jyles Armstrong.  The couple farmed in the Causey community until they both retired.  Mr. Armstrong preceded her in death in Nov. 2008.  For many years she was a member of the United Church of God.  She was well known throughout the Causey area.

She is survived by a step-daughter, Karen Land of Amarillo; and her grandchildren, Timothy and Janie Olguin, Joshua Olguin, Zack Olguin and Leah and Frank Robinson and two step grandchildren, Heather and Brandon.  There are also five great-grandchildren, Jeiden, Syan and Phoenix Olguin and Cidney and Dominic Robinson, and two great-great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Kyler Ervin.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as a daughter, Marcy LeAnn Olguin who died in 2009, and three brothers, Donald, Frank and David Watson.
