RICHARDSON, Texas – After a record setting game over the weekend, Justin Manyweather of Eastern New Mexico Football was named the Lone Star Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Manyweather set program records for a single game in receiving yards (237) and catches (16). The senior wide receiver passed the previous mark of 206 recieving yards by Cale Sanders against Midwestern State in Sept. 2001, and beat out Darian Dale’s 14 catches in a game against Southeastern Okla, in Sept. 2009, based on available records. The Fullerton, California native also had two touchdowns against Western New Mexico, including the game winning score as Eastern provided a late comeback, 50-47.
Manyweather’s numbers surpassed conference markers as well. His catches and receiving yards set new single game highs by any LSC player this season, and was the most in both categories since 2017. Nationally, Manyweather’s 16 catches was the second most in a single game this season across Division II, while his 237 receiving yards was fourth most in a single game in Division II this season.
Manyweather is no stranger to conference awards. In 2019 Manyweather was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week, on Oct. 10. The last ENMU football player to receive offensive player of the week was Paul Terry, on Nov. 11, 2019.
Manyweather and ENMU football prepare for the Wagon Wheel game on Saturday, Oct. 16, with West Teaxs A&M making the trip to Portales. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Greyhound Stadium.
