Portales Creative Group hosted their first event March 29th (Fifth Friday) at the Yam theater. Forty-four artists displayed their art. Live music was performed by Lute of Orpheus, and dance performances from Dance Studio Extreme rounded out the evening. The response was overwhelming. Nearly 400 people attended and 10 artists sold their art. Some artists sold several pieces and received commissioned work, as well. The group will continue to host events every Fifth Friday. The next event is May 31st in the Yam. 
The Portales Creative Group was formed in June 2018. The purpose was/is to connect creative people and to promote art and creativity in our area. We welcome all forms of creativity. Currently, we are made up of painters, sculptures, musicians, dancers, and a floral designer. We meet once a month to inspire one another.
