LUBBOCK, TEXAS – Late Saturday night, results came in from the Eastern New Mexico University track & field team’s strong start at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championship Meet. Kenneth Lloyd, Danee Bustos and Kandace Miles turned in record-setting efforts for the Hounds and qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Lloyd won the high jump with a school-record lead of 7′-0.50″. The jump earned him automatic qualification for the NCAA Division II Championships.Bustos and Miles advanced the the finals in both the 200m and 400m runs and posted provisionally qualifying times for the NCAA Championships. Bustos set team records in the 200m (24.67) and 400m (56.13). Miles finished the 400m run with a time of 56.43 and the 200m in 24.75.
Coley Norcross finished seventh in the women’s 5,000m run with a time of 19:17.51.
Adilene Adame placed tenth in the weight throw, while Lateria Slaughter reached the 60m dash finals with a time of 7.76. Mason Swanson reached the 800m dash finals with a time of 2:20.24.
Marcus Parker reached the 60m dash finals with a time of 6.78 and qualified for the finals in the 200m dash at 21.51. Ivar Moinat set a school record in the 800m dash and reached the finals with a time of 1:54.05.
The Eastern New Mexico University track & field team will continue competition in the LSC Championships on Sunday,
