Provider Spotlight: Cristi Lubera, CNM at Women’s Medical Center – Clovis, NM
Cristi is one of our local girls who joined Women’s Medical Center years ago, determined to provide excellent care for women and families in our community.
Cristi was born in Clovis, NM in 1973 at the Memorial Hospital to Don & Gayla Brumfield. She has one brother (Derek), who currently lives in California with her “soul sister”, sister in-law Tori, and niece Kendall. Their living in Cali. gives Cristi an awesome place to vacation as she LOVES to travel- especially to the beach!
She graduated from Clovis High School in 1992. This same year she started dating an “older local boy” Scott Lubera, and they married in the summer of 1996. They have 2 kids: Nic is a 16 year old sophomore at CHS who loves to play baseball, and Kate is 13 years old with a beautiful yet mischievous smile, and a cheerleader at Yucca Middle School. Cristi considers her family her favorite people of all and loves they provide her with entertaining stories of their daily life.
Cristi started her professional education at Clovis Community College and graduated with her RN in 1997. She then began working at Plains Regional Medical Center Women’s Unit for the next few years. She always knew she wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner, and after working in Labor & Delivery, the specialty of Certified Nurse Midwifery was the perfect fit. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Nursing from ENMU, and in 2001 she proudly graduated from the University of New Mexico with her Master’s in Nursing- Certified Nurse Midwife.
She joined the Women’s Medical team in 2000 and has been an integral part of our practice since. She has delivered well over 2000 babies (lost track long ago) but she feels honored to be such an important part of people’s lives. She is passionate about women’s health and strives to make everyone she meets feel comfortable and empowered in their health story. Cristi loves to laugh & visit with her patients (usually why may have to wait a bit to see her!) but she considers each woman and their family her friends.
