Letha Faye Clark was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Elida, to the home of Lillie Ethel (Corbitt) and Allen H. Turnbough, and died Jan. 6, 2021 in Clovis, NM. She grew up in Rogers where she graduated from high school in 1953. On Oct. 28, 1955 in Portales, she was married to Clarence Clark. She and her husband farmed in the Portales area for many years. Letha was a longtime member of the East Valley View Homemaker’s Club. Through the years she had entered many of her baked goods, handwork and the produce from her garden in the Roosevelt County Fair. She and Clarence enjoyed the fellowship and fun, dancing in the Starlight Swingers Square Dance Club. Letha seemed to always be taking care of someone in failing health, from her husband, to other family members and even family friends. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Richard Smith of Clovis; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Betty Turnbough of Clovis and Ross and Barbara Turnbough of Portales; and a sister-in-law, Vaunceil (Mrs. Arthur) Turnbough of Portales; numerous nieces and nephews as well as her dear friend, LaDoris Good. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Onie Meador, two brothers, Arthur Turnbough and Roy J. Turnbough, who died as an infant, and by her beloved husband, Clarence, who died July 15, 1992.
