In my almost 60 years on this earth, I have been blessed to encounter wonderful people.  The Lord has allowed our paths in life to cross.  One such person taught me a very important lesson a few years ago.

It is unfortunate; but in this life, we can expect at some time to be hurt by others.  They do or say things that inflict emotional pain.

We need to lay such hurt at the feet of Jesus.  Once turned over to him, do not, do not, turn around and pick it up again.  For as long as we hang on to the hurt, it festers and poisons our spirit.

As I was recovering from my first round with cancer in 2012, an individual said to me, ” I wish you had died”.  That really hurt.  Why would someone whom I thought cared about me say such a thing?

It is such hurts that we must let go of and lay at Jesus’ feet.  We must let him heal the hurt and deal with the situation.  If we hang onto to the hurt, it only grows and becomes an impediment in our lives.

Do you have something that you need to lay at the feet of Jesus?

Lay it there, trust in him to handle whatever it is, and move on.

Matthew 11:28-30 ” Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  ” For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
