Portales Girls’ basketball team traveled to Roswell to face Roswell High on January 7, 2020. Quickly into the game, the Lady Rams took the lead of the game. By the end of just 1 period, Portales was ahead 20-7. Roswell met the Lady Rams point for point in the 2nd, 8-8, but they couldn’t stop Portales from scoring, which left Roswell behind 28-15 at halftime.
Roswell came out after half and outscored the Lady Rams 15-8 in the 3rd, which diminished the lead of Portales slightly. But with a low scoring 4th for both teams, with Portales scoring more (8-3) than their opponent, the fate of the Lady Coyotes was sealed, and the Lady Rams came out on top with a final score of 44-33. Portales is now 8-3 this season.
