The Portales volleyball team traveled 19 miles down Interstate 60/84 to Clovis for a matchup on August 31st at 6:30 PM.
The two teams had to face off in 4 sets. The first set was close, but Clovis managed to squeeze past the Lady Rams by 2 points. That set final was 30-32. Portales rallied in the 2nd set though, and outscored Clovis 25-13.
Portales continued their lead in the 3rd and 4th sets, securing a game win. The 3rd set ended with a 7-point lead for the Lady Rams. That set ended 25-18. In the 4th, the Lady Wildcats tried to come back, but Portales won 25-20, ending the game with their 2nd win this season.
The Lady Rams are now 2-1 this season. Their next game is on Saturday, September 4 at 10:30 AM to kickoff a tournament. They’ll face Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School from Albuquerque.
