The Lady Rams have been at a tournament facing a variety of teams this weekend. After winning a match against Cottonwood Classic Prep, they faced Texico and Albuquerque Academy, all on Saturday.
They faced Texico first at 1:30 PM, and lost the first set of that game, but quickly fell into a rhythm and ended up winning the following 3 sets. The scores were 25-21 Texico, 25-19 Portales, 25-11 Portales, and 25-19 Portales. The final match score was 3-1 with Portales advancing in the tournament after the win.
Their next match was against Albuquerque Academy at 6 PM. The Lady Rams handed them a total shutout, winning all 3 sets to finalize the game. The set scores, all in Portales’ favor, were 25-17, 27-25, and 25-14. Solidifying Portales’ dominance at the tournament.
The two wins moved Portales to 5-1 this season! Their next match is on Tuesday, September 7 at 6:30 PM in Roswell against Roswell High.
