After tough competition at the state tournament, the Floyd Lady Broncos’ season has come to an end. They faced the #1 seed, Melrose, and lost on November 15, sending them to the contenders bracket, where they were scheduled to face Tatum on Saturday, November 16. The game started at 8 am, and the teams fought hard. The winner earned a spot for redemption in the final four of the 1A tournament and to regain a chance for the state title.
After 3 tough sets, Floyd was unable to contain their opponent, and lost the match. The loss knocked the Lady Broncos out of the running, and ended their season. The final four teams include Melrose, Pine Hill, Logan and Tatum. The winners will advance to the state championship.
Floyd finished their season #5 in NMAA Class 1A, with their first district championship title after 15 years, and a record of 17-7 for the season.
Congratulations to the girls and their coach, Dawn Kuchta for all their hard work!
The Roosevelt Review is proud of how they carried themselves throughout the season and how they represented our county!
