For the first time in over 15 years Floyd Lady Broncos won their district championship and claimed the title!
The championship game was against Tatum, who was ranked #2 in the district. The game lasted more than 2 hours. Both teams played hard, but Floyd was able to come out on top to seal the championship title. Both teams fought to bitter end, with points going back and forth.
The first match ended with Floyd winning 31-29. Match point swayed back and forth until the Lady Broncos for the upper hand right at the end. The 2nd match went to Tatum who rallied and won 25-21. The 3rd and 4th sets were also back and forth, but Floyd won it 25-23. Finally, the 4th set and game point went to Floyd 26-24.
The final score of the game was 3-1, and the Lady Broncos headed home with a district championship title! The Lady Broncos are ranked 5th in State in their class. Their regular season ended with a record of 14-5 and 9-1 in district.
The Lady Broncos will play the winner from Monday’s district tournament game between Dora and Elida. The game will be Tuesday in the District Tournament game.
