Kenneth Fischer Obituary
The family will conduct private burial for Kenneth Fischer, 73, of Melrose, NM.
Kenneth Don Fischer was born Nov. 1, 1950 in Waco, TX to the home of Aileen (Shroeder) and Oscar Fischer, and died early on the morning of Sept. 10, 2024 in Clovis, NM. Mr. Fischer was a 1968 graduate of Waco High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force. During his time in the service, he was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base, and while attending a rodeo in Melrose he met Connie Gayle Widner. They were married in Melrose on Aug. 4, 1973. Their first home was at his next duty station in Alabama.
In 1974, when he was discharged from the service, they moved to Waco to make their home. For many years he was employed in the construction trade building metal buildings. He did many different jobs for the company including welding. He and his wife were members of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and playing with his children and grandchildren. In addition he had drawn countless very involved and intricate maze puzzles.
He is survived by Connie, his wife of over 51 years of Melrose; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clint and Sally Fischer and Clay and Courtney Fischer all of Randolph, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Joe Marek of Rosenthal, TX; six grandchildren, Cameron Fischer, Carys Fischer, Maddie Fischer, Aidan Fischer, Kyle Marek and Carson Marek; a brother, Harold Fischer of Lorena, TX and a sister, Beverly Reinke of Hewitt, TX. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
