Jose Miranda Monge May 25, 1927 ~ February 5, 2023 (age 95)

Funeral services for Jose Miranda, 95, of Clovis, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Templo La Hermosa with Pastor Socorro Miranda officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Moises Ornelas, Eduardo Ornelas, Adan Ornelas, Isaias Miranda, Joshe Foster and Carlos Derma serving as pallbearers.

Jose Miranda Monge was born on May 25, 1927, in Carichic, Chihuahua, Mexico, to the home of Juana (Monge) and Guadalupe Miranda, and went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2023, in Clovis, New Mexico.

Jose was born and raised in Mexico and moved to the United States in 1984.  He married Elvira Mendoza on July 2, 1951 in Carichic, Chihuahua.  He was a member of Templo La Hermosa in Portales.  He was a very hard worker and had a strong faith in the Lord.  He enjoyed gardening and really loved to be outdoors.  Jose loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all of them.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Jesus, Pablo, Manuel, Donaciano, Librado, Lola, Bicky, Simona, Marcela and Lupe.

He is survived by his wife, Elvira Miranda of Clovis; one son, Socorro Miranda & wife Barbara of Clovis; six daughters, Sara Miranda of Chihuahua, Ester Miranda of Chihuahua, Hermila Miranda of Clovis, Rosario Miranda & husband Manuel Rivera of Chihuahua, Ofelia Miranda & husband Cesareo Sepulveda of Bernalillo and Eva Ornelas & husband Octavio of Eunice; 32 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren.
