Obituary

The Rosary for Jose Garcia, 36, of Portales, will be recited at 9:00 AM, Fri., July 1, 2022 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 with Fr. Francisco Carbajal officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Gerardo Marquez, Amando Garcia, Ramon Romero, and Ramiro Anton serving as pallbearers.

Jose Daniel Garcia was born June 1, 1986 in Gomez Palacio, Mexico to the home of Maria Teresa Flores and Armando Garcia Lopez and died in Portales, NM on June 25 2022. Mr. Garcia lived the majority of his life in El Paso, TX where he graduated from Tornillo High School in 2004. Following high school he attended a technical school for engine repair. After finishing his training, he worked as a mobile mechanic until his death. He was qualified to work on all engines, both gasoline and diesel. Throughout his working career he lived in various places. In Oct. of 2021, he moved to Portales. When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his companion, Guadalupe Mendez of Portales; his children, Jordan Garcia, Elizabeth Garcia, Melissa Garcia and Daleisa Garcia all of El Paso, TX, Jose A. Garcia and Armando Garcia both of Odessa, TX and the daughters of his companion, Yvonna Mendez and Dianely Mendez of Portales; his mother and father, Maria Teresa Garcia and Armando Garcia Lopez of Portales; a brother, Armando R. Garcia of Portales; and his sisters, Annabelle Romero of El Paso, TX, Laura Marquez, Diana Marquez and Dalila Garcia all of Portales.
